This is the third portrait of Frida Kahlo I've done. I wanted to see what it would look like in a watercolor. I started this version in Adobe Sketch with the acrylic brush for the background and finished it with Adobe Fresco with the live watercolor brushes in the foreground.
Process:
I started with a rough sketch.
I continued with a pencil drawing layer.
Added a mid-tone gray background.
Added some color and texture to the background.
Added skin color layer.
Added some red to the face and dress.
Added color to the floral head piece.
Added some dark values and shadows.
Added highlights.
Added white frame. Completed
