"Spike"
I did this pet portrait of "Spike" as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law. It’s the first pet portrait I’ve done, it was fun to do!
Process:
Started this project with Adobe Illustrator Draw app on an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil.
Began with the outline sketch on a gray background
Added the basic line art.
Added flat mid tone color.
I added an orange pilow and changed the background to black. I used the black and orange motif because Spike's owner is a Harley Davidson enthusiast!
Added some detail to the face.
Added a layer of darker reddish brown to the coat and began adding some of the white hair markings detail.
Added some gray markings to the face and ears.
Added more detail to the paws and face.
Added details and highlights - final.
